G-MAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week (Oct. 5)

10.5.15

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Cedarville senior Benjamin Tuttle was named the fifth Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fall on Monday.

Tuttle emerged from a large pack of runners to finish in the upper tier at the Yellow Jackets-hosted All-Ohio Championships on Friday at the Elvin R. King Course.

Tuttle ended his latest 8K effort, the G-MAC’s best this this fall, with a time of 24:56.04 to place 13th out of 540 total runners.

The senior beat out a handful of runners from Division I Ohio schools like Ohio State, Akron, Dayton, Ohio and Cincinnati.

He also broke through in the G-MAC’s all-time top-10 list at No. 8, besting one of former Cedarville All-American alum Matt Brooker’s long list of record-breaking 8K times.

Tuttle now owns two of the league’s 11 best times in G-MAC history for an 8K distance.

As a team, Cedarville finished 13th of 39.

The Yellow Jackets continue their fall season next weekend at the Lewis Conference Crossover in Romeoville, Ill.
