GREENWOOD, Ind. - Accomplished Davis & Elkins College senior runner Ellen Cantaral was selected as the G-MAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week following a first-place finish at the Patty Forgey Invitational 5K event hosted by the University of Rio Grande.
 
Cantaral averaged 6:18 per mile en route to toppling the field with an overall time of 19:37 to best 40 other runners in the field. She helped the Senators to a second-place team finish only to host Rio Grande.
 
Cantaral had been knocking on the door for top honors all season long after assembling a sixth-place performance at the St. Vincent Invitational, fourth-place effort at the Bethany Invitational and runner-up credentials at the D&E-hosted Forest Festival Invitational.
 
She was a second-team all-conference selection a year ago for Davis & Elkins.
