Unionville, Tenn. - Eagleville High School

Bryan Smith has been named G-MAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week after his outing against Rockhurst University this past week. In game one of a weekend doubleheader, Smith pitched 8.1 shutout innings, allowing just two hits.

Smith struck out nine in TNU's 11-0 win, holding his opponents to a .077 batting average. He walked three, but left all three stranded. Of his eight completed innings, Smith had four 1-2-3 innings. He also had three more innings that he allowed one walk and retired the three other batters in that inning, preventing Smith from having as many as seven perfect innings.

This season, Smith has a staff-best 1.52 ERA and has tossed a team-high 29.1 innings. His 31 strikeouts are second on the staff and in the conference, while hitters are hitting a team-low .136 against Smith. His opposing batting average ranks fourth in the conference, while his three wins are second in the league.
