2014 USTFCCCA All-Region Teams
NEW ORLEANS – Trevecca University freshman Caroline Hampton added yet another notable distinction to her name after being selected by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as voted on by the Division II coaches.
The all-region teams were determined following the completion of the NCAA regional championships meets.
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference competed in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Evansville hosted by the University of Southern Indiana.
A total of 397 student-athletes (199 men and 198 women) earned the distinction by finishing among the top 25 individual finishers at one of the eight regional sites across the country.
Among the 198 women, Hampton was just one of 37 freshmen across the entire country to earn all-region status.
She was the top finisher at the G-MAC Championship in Owensboro, Ky., for Runner of the Year/Freshman of the Year prestige and was the league’s best runner at the NCAA Midwest Regional.
Hampton possesses the top two 6K times in the conference’s brief history and also has staked a claim for three of the G-MAC’s 10 best 5K distance times this year alone.
