GREENWOOD, Ind. - An integral part of a talented senior-laden class, Cedarville University fourth-year runner Clay Watson was named the G-MAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after clocking in with the best time in Saturday’s Carnegie Mellon Invitational in Pittsburgh.
Watson completed the 8,00-meter course in 25:07 for his first career title. The Yellow Jackets placed third of 13 as a team in the final standings.
Watson was able to win the race with a six-second margin to spare against runner-up Nick Marcantonio of Cortland State.
