NEW ORLEANS - (courtesy of @CUJackets) Cedarville is 15th among NCAA Division II men's cross country programs in the preseason coaches' poll conducted by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
It's a familiar spot for the Yellow Jackets. It's exactly where they finished in the 2012 NCAA Division II Championship. Adams State (Colo.) is the top-ranked squad.
Cedarville is No. 4 in the Midwest Region. The Jackets tied for fourth place in last fall's regional meet.
Grand Valley State (Mich.) is No. 1 in the preseason region ranking. Southern Indiana is No. 2, Ashland is No. 3, and Malone rounds out the top five.
The Yellow Jackets open the season on Sept. 7 at the Miami Invitational. They host four meets at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course beginning with the 23rd Annual Friendship Invitational on Sept. 21.
