Niemiec & Fox: Capital One Academic All-District®

CEDARVILLE, Ohio (courtesy of @CUYellowJackets) - Cedarville tennis standout Aaron Niemiec has been voted to the Capital One Academic® All-District Men’s At-Large Team for the 2012-13 academic year. Yellow Jacket catcher Chris Fox was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District® Baseball Team for the 2013 season.

The programs are administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Niemiec, a senior from Zeeland, Mich., is one of 10 NCAA Division II student-athletes chosen from District 4 which includes the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, and the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

The men’s at-large division considers athletes competing in the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo, and wrestling.

Niemiec was one of four tennis players among the ten to be honored. His 3.90 cumulative grade point average as an electrical engineering major ranked #3 in the district.

Fox, a junior from Lancaster, Ohio, secured the lone catcher's spot on the 12-member NCAA Division II squad. District 4 includes student-athletes from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, and the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Fox was nominated with a 3.96 cumulative grade point average as a mechanical engineering major. That mark was the third-highest GPA among players on the district team.
