INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that Ryan Ledbetter and Cam McWilliams of Cedarville University have been named G-MAC Baseball Pitching and Offensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

Cam McWilliams was named G-MAC Men’s Baseball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. This past week, he helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a perfect 4-0 week, including a win over Urbana University to improve to 3-3 in conference and create a three-way tie (by conference win percentage) atop the conference standings.
 
In the four games, McWilliams hit .556, and led the conference with a .833 slugging percentage. He scored seven runs on ten hits, which included a pair of doubles and a conference best two triples. He led the conference with 15 total bases, including 2.5 hits per game played - which topped the conference last week.
 
McWilliams is hitting .510 on the season, but has played in only 12 of the 22 games this season. His 25 hits ranks third on the team. His two doubles and two triples this past week make up his season total of extra base hits.
 
In the team’s one conference game, McWilliams went 2-4 out of the leadoff spot, including two walks and a triple. He scored twice in the 14-6 victory over Urbana.

PITCHING AOTW

Ryan Ledbetter has been named the G-MAC Pitching Athlete of the Week after helping guide Cedarville to a perfect 4-0 week, including his complete game four-hitter against Salem International. In the victory, Ledbetter’s fourth of the season and first in his last three outings, he struck out a season-high and conference record 14 batters.
 
Over the seven innings, Ledbetter allowed one unearned run in the fourth inning, closing the Cedarville advantage to 3-1 through four. The Yellow Jackets added three more runs to close out the game 6-1 as Ledbetter allowed just one hit over the final three innings.
 
On the season, Ledbetter has a conference low 1.95 earned run average in six appearances and ranks second (tied with Justin Robinson - 38 innings pitched) with 37 strikeouts in 32.1 innings - ranking behind his brother David Ledbetter’s 54 strikeouts.
 
His 4-1 record is third in the conference and tied for second in wins, and hitters are only hitting .216 against Ledbetter, which is second lowest average in the conference.
