Melissa Stoltzfus has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conferences Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week. In the team’s only match of the week, Stoltzfus won her match 6-0, 6-1 in the number one singles spot over Ursuline. The win for Cedarville clinched the regular-season and G-MAC Championship in the women’s tennis inaugural season.
Stoltzfus has now won four matches in a row and five of her last six. She won two from the number one position and two from the number four spot.
Note: The G-MAC, in its inaugural season, sponsors women’s tennis currently with three programs (Cedarville, Central State, and Ursuline), and will expand to include at least six programs next year. With an expanded season, the Athlete of the Week honors will cover both the fall and spring sessions.
