INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that David Ledbetter and David Lenhardt of Cedarville University have been named G-MAC Baseball Pitching and Offensive Athletes of the Week respectively.

David Lenhardt was named G-MAC Men’s Baseball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. His award, joined with teammate David Ledbetter who was named Pitcher of the Week this week, gives Cedarville their sixth Athlete of the Week (Offense and/or Pitcher) this season.
Lenhardt hit .579 last week, including a conference-high. He led the G-MAC with a slugging percentage of 1.000 as he collected a conference best five doubles to go with a home run. His season average improved to .417, which ranks third in the G-MAC.
Lenhardt collected a lot of timely hits, driving in 15 runs in five games and scored six of his own. He led the way in RBI and also in total bases (19) last week. His 15 RBI bumped him up to 33 on the season, and now ranks third in the conference. His 11 doubles on the season now rank fifth and his four home runs rank fourth in the conference. However, when examining the stats in regards to per game averages, Lenhardt’s 1.22 runs batted in per game lead the G-MAC.
The Yellow Jackets went a perfect 5-0 last season, including a pair of conference wins over Urbana. Cedarville improved to 20-9 overall and 5-3 in conference. With just over a week of action remaining, Cedarville controls its own destiny in earning the top seed for the G-MAC Championship Tournament.

David Ledbetter has been named the G-MAC Pitching Athlete of the Week for the first time this season. In two starts, he went 2-0 throwing a total of nine innings over the two seven-inning contests, including one conference win.
Ledbetter improved to 5-4 on the season with the wins, while extending his lead in strikeouts among conference pitchers. In nine innings this past week, Ledbetter struck out 17 hitters, giving him 71 on the season in 44.2 innings. Second best total is 47 strikeouts in 44.1 innings by Urbana’s Justin Robinson.
This past week, Ledbetter allowed two runs on six hits in two starts. He lowered his earned run average 3.43, which ranks second in the conference behind only his twin brother Ryan. The brothers now each have one G-MAC Pitcher of the Week honor each.
