Lady Jackets take G-MAC Women's Tennis Crown

DAYTON, Ohio - The Cedarville Lady Jackets Women's Tennis program clinched the first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship with its 9-0 defeat of Ursuline College on Saturday afternoon in Dayton.

The win, which was the teams second in six days over the Arrows, improve Cedarville to 15-6 overall and 3-0 in the G-MAC. Ursuline closed out its regular-season at 2-2 in conference, but with only one match left for CU against Central State University (0-3 in conference), the Lady Jackets clinched the top spot prior to the final contest of the 2012-13 season.

Brooke Johnson and Joy Dice picked up a doubles win, while Lily Schuler and Courtney Heydt also picked up a win in doubles action. Emily Paul and Emma Rahn were awarded a point via forfeit.

Melissa Stoltzfus, Heydt, Maryssa Herbert, Paul, and Rahn secured points in singles, while Jessie Finfrock won by forfeit in the sixth spot.

The Lady Jackets have won five matches in a row and eight of their last nine. The will look for the perfect 4-0 record in conference play this week as they host Central State on April 22.
