INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has announced that Thomas Piatt of Urbana University and Jordan Foreman of Trevecca Nazarene University have been named G-MAC Baseball Pitching and Offensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
OFFENSIVE AOTW
Jordan Foreman
Trevecca Nazarene University
Senior - Outfielder
Jordan Foreman has been named Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, after leading the Trojans to a doubleheader sweep of Bloomsburg University, the team’s seventh-straight win overall, and the last four coming against Bloomsburg.
In the two games last week, an 8-7 extra-inning game and a 3-1 win at home over Bloomsburg, Foreman went 3-6 with three doubles, three runs scored and three driven in. In game one of the doubleheader, TNU trailed 7-1 headed into the bottom of the seventh of a schedule seven-inning game. Foreman entered his at-bat 0-3 on the afternoon. With bases loaded and two outs, Foreman ripped a bases clearing double to left field to cut the score to 7-4. He later scored as the Trojans scored six in the inning to send the games into extra-innings.
In the second game, Foreman was 2-2 with two runs scored. He also reached base after being hit by a pitch in the first inning, which he eventually came around and scored on. He later doubled in the third inning and the fifth inning, scoring the team’s third run in the fifth.
On the season, Foreman is hitting a team-high .452. He is three at-bats shy of the minimum requirement for conference rankings. If he had those at-bats, his batting average would top the G-MAC, which is currently led by Logan Kasabian’s (Cedarville University) .446 batting average.
Despite limited plate appearances, Foreman’s 11 doubles are five more than any player in the conference and his 42 total bases are second behind teammate Hunter Newman, who has 25 more at-bats than Foreman. He is also second in total hits (28), but leads the conference with an 1.75 hits per game average and 2.63 total bases per game.

PITCHING AOTW
Thomas Piatt
Urbana University
Senior - Right-Handed Pitcher
Thomas Piatt picked up Urbana’s only conference win of the weekend in a complete game shutout of Cedarville University, 6-0. His win was the first conference win in league history, was the first complete game, the first shutout, and established a conference-high with nine innings pitched and 12 strikeouts.
Piatt allowed a single to third base to Cedarville’s lead-off hitter, but retired him on a 5-4-3 double play ball. He didn’t allow another hit until the fifth inning, when he gave up back-to-back two-out singles, but left them stranded with a groundout to the mound.
He didn’t allow another hit over the final four innings, and faced just 10 batters in the final three innings (six strike outs and one hit by pitch).
On the season, Piatt is conference best 4-1 with a 3.06 earned run average, which ranks fourth in the G-MAC. He has a team and league-high 32.1 innings pitched and his 25 strikeouts are second on the team and fourth in the conference. Hitters are now batting only .220 against the righty, which is third in the conference.
