Erica Huber has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week after leading her team to a win over Slippery Rock in the team’s opener this past weekend. The game, which was technically a home game for Ursuline, was the first of the team’s 13 home games which will all be played at neutral sites around Cleveland because of the loss of their gym to a tornado in the early fall.

The freshman guard, in her first collegiate game of her career, helped lead the team to a dominating 86-65 win over Slippery Rock, as she scored 10 points, recorded a game-high eight rebounds, a game-high eight assists with just two turnovers, and also had a game-high five steals.

Her five steals equaled the team total for Slippery Rock and her eight rebounds tied teammate Natalie Cook for the game-high mark.

Early in the season, the first statistical leaderboard has Huber ranking first in both assists and steals among the G-MAC leaders.
