NEW ORLEANS - Cedarville took last weekend off and it may have cost them a spot as the Yellow Jackets are No. 16 in the third NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Coaches' Poll of the season.
The Top 25 is organized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
CU hasn't moved much in the polling thus far. The Jackets were 15th in the preseason and then were tied for 14th in the first poll prior to slipping back to 15th last week.
Cedarville remains 3rd in the Midwest Region behind top-ranked Grand Valley State and Southern Indiana. Malone remains 4th and Ashland is 5th.
Nationally, No. 3 GVSU, No. 7 Southern Indiana, and No. 19 Malone didn't move. Ashland improved one spot to No. 24.
For the fourth consecutive year, Cedarville will host the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships on Friday at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
The men's 8K race begins the schedule at 2:00 p.m. The women's 6K starts at 2:45.
