INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has named Matt Brooker of Cedarville the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Brooker, who ran in his first event toward the end of the month, has dominated the Runner of the Week - earning five of the six honors ever handed out by the G-MAC.

Matt Brooker has been named G-MAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the fifth time in his career, and fifth time out of six total handed out by the conference in its first year plus.
With the Yellow Jacket cross country team ranked in the top-15 in the nation, the team started off with a pair of races in which Brooker and other top runners did not participate as they trained to compete at a high level through the remainder of their fall schedule.
Brooker made his first appearance of the season as the Jackets hosted the 23rd Annual Friendship Invitational. He didn’t miss a step as he once again repeated as champion and guided the team to its fourth consecutive win at the event and eighth all-time.
Brooker won the race over teammate Ben Tuttle and the rest of the field of 129 by over 40 seconds.
