CEDARVILLE, Ohio - (courtesy of @CUYellowJackets) More than 1,400 runners representing nearly 50 schools will invade Cedarville University’s Elvin R. King Cross Country Course on Saturday for the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships.
The gun goes off for the 32nd annual women’s 5K championship at 2:00 p.m. with the 58th annual men’s 8K championship at 2:45. Both races will be video streamed live on
Stretch Internet (weather permitting).
This will mark the third consecutive year for the Yellow Jackets to serve as host at its spectator-friendly venue.
Miami University is the two-time defending women’s overall champion, but the RedHawks have chosen to compete elsewhere this weekend. Malone has won the last three NCAA Division II/NAIA trophies while Oberlin captured its first-ever DIII crown in 2011.
On the men’s side, Cincinnati is the defending champ. Shawnee State is the two-time defending DII/NAIA winner and Ohio Northern took the DIII top spot last fall for the second time in the past three years.
There will be a women’s open 5K race at 3:30 with the men’s open 8K race at 4:15. The awards ceremony follows at 5:00.
The course is located off the east side of State Route 72 just north of the Cedarville University campus. Admission is $6.00 per vehicle.
