Trevecca's Chauncey Arner was the top Trevecca runner, he recorded a time of 30:24 to place 124th. Spencer Cole was closely behind with a time of 30:39. Cameron Savage was the final TNU runner, he recorded a time of 33:20.

There weren't any changes in race day conditions from the women's race an hour earlier. It was cold and windy on a challenging course.

"The wind was very challenging, I felt as if I was running sideways with the other runners next to me," Arner said post race.

"Chauncey ran a very consistent race and has been that way for most of the season always near the 30 minute time at the 8K distance," commented Trevecca assistant coach Nick Landry. "Chauncey is a product of hard work and determination, he started the season as a walk-on and he's accomplished so much as a first-year runner. With a focused spring and summer conditioning program we are expecting great things next year."

"Spencer is very similar to Chauncey in the way they race and perform, but Spencer has completed his 2nd season after running as a walk-on a year ago. To see how they work together to accomplish their goals is remarkable and makes coaching rewarding seeing the growth. Spencer has cut his time from 33.43 from a year ago we expect to see more improvement next year," commented Landry.

"Cameron has made strides this year in his performances, he too had a tough race, but we couldn't be more proud of his work this year," added Landry.

The men's team has completed their 2011 season.

Trevecca Women's Results from 2011 NCCAA Cross Country Championships

The Trevecca women's cross country team sent three-harriers to the NCCAA Division 1 Women's Cross Country National Championship. The Championships were held at the Elvin R. King Cross Country course on the Cedarville University campus. The women's championship course was set to a 5000 meter (3.1 miles) distance. There were 140 runners completing in the division one meet.

Emily Husted led the Trevecca effort with an 87th place finish with a time of 21:26. Rachel Mudd turned in a personal record time of 22:09. Emily Keller with the third and final Trojan runner, Keller finished at 23:15.

Emily Husted, Rachel Mudd, and Emily Keller put together a stellar effort on a course that was made more challenging due to cold temperatures, gradual up hill and down hill terrain and blistering wind gusts.

"With terrain like this you tend to get beat up on the uphill and rest on the downhill instead of keeping pace on the uphill and surging on the downhill," said Trevecca assistant coach Nick Landry. "So the wind made what would normally be a consistent course, more difficult due to the additional conditions."

"Emily (Husted) has been our top female for each race this year and really has taken the team on her shoulder, for that we are very proud," commented Landry. "Rachel has consistently improved despite battling some early season (nagging) injuries, but capped her season with a personal best at the Nationals today."

"Emily (Keller) ran well with a few mental challenges, like her left shoe coming undone, to overcome. That obviously made it difficult for her. We are proud for fighting through that today along with the running conditions."

Emily Smith, who didn't participate, came on the trip as she earned NCCAA Academic All-American honors with a 4.0 GPA.

This event concludes the 2011 season for the women's cross country team.
