GEORGETOWN, Kentucky - Georgetown College baseball accolades continue to pour in, a month after the season ended in the regional tournament. Tiger pitchers Tyler Arthur and Chad Richie were named to the 2012 Baseball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Selection Committee.

They both earned second team honors, putting them among the top 32 players in the country.

Richie, a junior, was listed as the second best relief pitcher, while freshman Arthur was among the top eight best starting pitchers and the lone rookie on either of the first two teams.

"It is great for our team and for Chad and Tyler to be recognized this way," said GC coach Micah Baumfeld. "I'm really excited. This is the programs first All-Americans since 2006 and it now doubles our total."

Adam Burks was All-American honorable mention in 2006 and Tim Redman was first-team All-American in 1987.

Richie was the closer again this past season, notching 12 saves on the season while also going 6-1 on the mound in undecided situations. He had a 0.72 ERA in 37 and 2/3 innings with 33 strikeouts. The 12 saves is No. 8 nationally in the NAIA.

Arthur, also Freshman of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in the Mid-South Conference, posted a 10-1 record in 14 games. He threw 91 innings with a 1.68 ERA - ninth best in the NAIA. He also ranked inside the top 25 nationally at No. 16 in total allowed runs (17) and No. 19 in wins.

The pair are the lone MSC representatives on the first or second team, while Lindsey Wilson's Leandro Perez did receive honorable mention honors.
