Pair of G-MAC Student-Athletes Crowned National Champions at 2026 Outdoor Track & Field Championship

INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference had a strong showing at the 2026 Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, hosted in Emporia, Kansas last week. Hillsdale’s Allison Kuzma and Lake Erie’s Alan De Falchi highlighted the event as national champions in their respective events.
 
Kuzma took home her first outdoor national title and second overall after winning at the indoor championships. The sophomore found herself atop the podium in the 10,000 meter race, clocking a time of 33:43.47. Kuzma’s time is the second fastest in G-MAC history.
 
De Falchi captured the fifth national title in Lake Erie History, heaving the discus with a mark of 60.48m. De Falchi’s mark is the furthest in G-MAC history, while becoming just the second student-athlete from the league to win a national title in the discus.
 
In addition to two national champions, the league saw 32 student-athletes garner either first or second team all-American honors.
 
Hillsdale’s Ben Haas and Northwood’s Blake Vier found third-place finishes in their events, while Walsh’s Joel Brown finished fourth in the Decathlon and Ashland’s Brayden Jackson earned a fourth place finish in the pole vault. Haas ended his collegiate career winning his seventh and eighth all-American honors in the hammer throw, and shot put, respectively. For Vier, he crossed the finish line in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.82. His time is fifth all-time in the G-MAC record books.
 
Ashland’s Molly Winner took second in the hammer throw, while finishing seventh in the shot put-both good for all-American honors. Amelia Lutz of Hillsdale was the highest G-MAC finisher in the shot put, coming in third place. The Eagles’ 4x100m also finished third with a time of 44.97 seconds. Medgine Wojton, Brianna Chenevey, Alexis Wims, and Hailey Rios each earned all-American honors as part of the relay team.
 
The women’s pole vault event saw Hillsdale’s Tara Townsend earn a third-place finish, followed by Findlay’s Colleen Steinmetz in seventh.
