INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) is proud to announce the start of the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Golf spring seasons. With early-season tournaments already underway this February, programs across the league are gearing up for the highly anticipated G-MAC Championships this April at the Belterra Resort in Florence, Indiana.
Men’s Season Outlook: The Ohio Dominican Panthers enter the 2026 spring campaign as the defending G-MAC Champions, leaning on veteran leadership from senior Cian Hughes and junior Rune Van den Bosch. The Panthers captured the 2025 title after a dramatic head-to-head medal match play showdown against the Findlay Oilers. Findlay—currently ranked No. 42 in the Clippd national rankings—led the 2025 stroke play portion behind individual medalist Colin Schadek and will be hungry to reclaim the hardware. Expect fierce competition from No. 44 Tiffin, returning key juniors like Christopher Bruno, and No. 38 Hillsdale. The Chargers are a major national threat, led by returning All-G-MAC standout Robert Thompson, who enters the spring ranked as the No. 8 player in the entire country according to Clippd, alongside senior Maxwell Burns. Both of these challengers boast deep returning rosters capable of disrupting the leaderboard and making a run at the championship match.
Women’s Season Outlook: On the women's side, the Findlay Oilers continue to set the gold standard, entering 2026 in pursuit of their eighth conference championship. The Oilers dominated the field in 2025 and enter the spring as a bona fide national title contender, currently ranked No. 3 overall in the NCAA Division II Clippd National Rankings. Findlay’s powerhouse lineup features three players currently ranked in the national top 30: No. 3 ranked Ashleigh Duflo, No. 27 Ellie Yeazell, and No. 30 Hayley Dye. However, nationally ranked challengers like No. 49 Tiffin—anchored by 2025 runner-up Lisa Marie Schumacher—and No. 46 Ashland, bringing back senior veteran Klaira Paramore and WGCA All-American Scholar Sammi Miller, are poised to push the reigning champions to the brink in what promises to be a highly competitive spring.
Championship Format & Dates: Both the Men’s and Women’s Championships feature a rigorous 54-hole stroke play format (36 holes on day one, 18 on day two), culminating in a high-stakes, head-to-head medal match play on day three between the top two teams to crown the ultimate team champion.
