GREENSBURG, Pa. – Seton Hill captured its fourth Great Midwest Lacrosse Championship on Saturday beating Walsh 20-5.
This one was all Seton Hill from the start. SHU took a quick 14-0 lead before Walsh found the back of the net for the first time with 2:43 left in the first half. Offensive Player of the Year Braedan Lockyer registered six of Seton Hill’s 14 first-half goals. Lockyer would finish the game with a game-high seven goals.
Walsh would find some rhythm in the second half, totaling four additional goals. James Sternberg and Parker Stanway led the way for the Cavaliers with a pair of goals apiece.
The Griffins added five goals in the second half to finish the game with 20. Will Cody was credited with the win in the net, giving up just two goals in 40 minutes.
In the final North Region rankings, Seton Hill was tabbed fourth. The top six teams advance to the NCAA tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will take place Sunday night.
