Tiffin Secures Fourth G-MAC Men's Soccer Title

TIFFIN, Ohio- Tiffin captured their third Great Midwest Men’s Soccer Championship on Saturday in a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory  over Kentucky Wesleyan.

 The Dragons came back from a 1-0 deficit after a KWC goal by Haakon Torvbraaten in the 57:00 minute-mark. Tiffin’s Noah Purtz answered, finding the back of the net on an assist by teammate Yaw Turkson. Purtz’s goal would send the two into overtime, tied at 1-1.

Both the Panthers and the Dragons would remain scoreless through the first overtime period to extend the game into double overtime.

At the 104:14 minute-mark, Tiffin’s Victor Nembhard connected with Griffin Cook and Bjarne Fedkenhauer to seal the victory for the Tiffin.

Tiffin Goalkeeper Nick Cherry earned the victory in goal with two saves on the day.

The Dragons, who are ranked No. 8 in the most recent Super Region Three rankings, will earn the conference’s automatic qualifying bid.
