INDIANAPOLIS- Ashland continues to find themselves at the top of the women’s soccer standings with a record of 6-0-1. Both the Eagles and Cedarville Yellow Jackets are both in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll at No. 16 and No. 23, respectively.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Kentucky Wesleyan picked up their first win of the year with a win over Ursuline. A trio of Panthers in Haylie Panter, Haley Osborne, and Deca Burr would find the back of the net in a 3-2 victory. Goalkeeper Abby Payne recorded four saves in 90 minutes of play.
  • Lake Erie earned a win over Findlay in a 2-0 shutout. The Lake Erie defense limited the Oilers to six shots on goal, while goalkeeper Morgan Vanmeter was credited with five saves. Ainsley MacKenzie and Isabella Carvalho would each score for the Storm.
  • The top two teams in the league in Ashland and Cedarville went wire-to-wire before ending in a 1-1 draw.  Cedarville struck first with a goal by Maddie McConnell in the 17th minute. Ashland’s Sofia Divine went on to tie the score in the 61st minute of the match.
  • Thomas More picked up two wins on the week, one over Ohio Dominican and one over Ursuline. The Saints swept the weekly awards as Alexis Harden earned offensive player of the week honors while Tea Pence won the defensive honors. Harden scored three goals on the week and also added an assist. On the defensive end, Pence registered six saves in three halves of play.
  • The Pioneers from Malone University were victorious over crosstown rival Walsh. Gracie Ashton connected with Morgan Kandel and Lexi Bischoff to get Malone on the scoreboard first. Brynn Mowrer extended the Pioneers’ lead right before the half with a PK goal.
