Martin’s torrid 10-for-19 stretch at the plate played a large role in the Battlers going 4-1 this past week.
Martin collected hits in four of the five games, including a 3-for-5 outing with four RBI and two doubles against Glenville State last Wednesday and going 3-for-3 with a double, home run and four runs batted in against conference foe Ohio Valley in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
For the week, Martin compiled a .579 batting average, four doubles, a home run, eight runs scored, nine runs batted in, a .947 slugging percentage, and a .636 on-base percentage. His slugging percentage ranked tops among all league players and his on-base percentage was second.
Martin is now batting .330 on the season, with nine doubles, three home runs, and 27 runs batted in. The Battlers overall record is now 17-14 overall with a 7-5 in league play.
