PITCHING AOTW
Tim Bowles picked up a win and a save last week as the Trojans completed a perfect 4-0 week to improve to 14-10, winning five straight and seven of their last eight games. Bowles picked up his save in Trevecca’s 6-4 win over St. Andrews.
In his relief appearance, he tossed four shutout innings, allowing four hits, while striking out five.
In his win, he once again pitched four innings of relief. He gave up two runs (one unearned) on just two hits. He struck out a pair and helped preserve a 8-5 win over Bloomsburg.
For the week, he allowed six hits, just the one earned run and struck out a team-high seven batters. On the season, Bowles is 1-1 with a 2.86 earned run average. He has made a conference-high nine appearances, collecting a conference-high two saves (tied with Rob Nesteroff of Cedarville).
He has thrown 22 innings (two shy of being eligible for conference rankings), allowing 20 hits and struck out 11, as opponents are hitting just .235 against the righty - which would rank him fourth in the conference if he had the minimum number of innings thrown.
