Davis & Elkins senior guard Stephanie Wooten was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week again as announced by the league on Monday.
This marks Wooten’s fourth career conference weekly award honor.
Wooten completed a trifecta of rare career milestones over the past week as the Senators improved their overall record to 7-1 following wins against Penn State-Beaver and Fairmont State.
She became the conference’s all-time leading scorer against Penn State-Beaver with 16 points, moving past Cedarville’s Kayla Linkous (1,313 points). Wooten now has 1,337 points in her career to date with plenty of time to keep adding to those impressive career totals.
She also became the G-MAC’s new leader in field goals made with 466 and three-point field goals made with 187. Wooten became the G-MAC all-time leader in assists earlier this year and leads all players with 458 distributed dimes.
Wooten also handed out seven assists as Davis & Elkins topped the century mark as a team in the McDonnell Center.
Against Fairmont State on the road, Wooten poured in 22 points to lead D&E and drained five three-point buckets.
On the week, she averaged 19 points, five assists, three rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Davis & Elkins has won four straight and takes a 7-1 record into a new week.
