Cedarville senior guard J.C. Faubion was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday.
Faubion compiled a near triple-double on the road against Saint Joseph’s (IN) as the Yellow Jackets earned a regional win over the weekend.
This represents the first weekly conference award for Faubion’s career.
Already having gone over 1,000 points earlier this season, Faubion has established himself as one of the league’s premier scoring threats. He currently has 1,055 career points since 2013, moving into sixth place among the G-MAC’s all-time leading scorers.
Faubion posted 11 assists (third-best in G-MAC history), the fourth time that has happened since the league started in 2012, against the Pumas. He also scored 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.
Only three rebounds left him shy of a triple-double and Faubion also added three steals in Cedarville’s 92-76 win.
The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-4 overall on the season.
