Lankford went 1-1 this past week, allowing a total of three runs (all earned) on 12 hits with 18 strikeouts over 13 strong innings pitched.
Lankford earned his first win at Salem International with a complete-game shutout at Chowan on Sunday afternoon. He allowed three hits, while striking out 12 and issuing only one walk.
The 6-1 junior hurler retired the first 14 Chowan batters in order and had a no-hit bid broken with a two-out single in the sixth inning. His outing in the final game of the four-game series helped the Tigers win 3-0 and earn a weekend split with the Hawks.
Lankford also allowed three runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and three walks over six innings in a 3-0 loss at Virginia State earlier in the week.
