Josiah Bernard has been named the Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after a great individual performance at the home Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.
Bernard established a new conference record time of 51.35 seconds in the 400-meter event. For the purposes of qualifying, his time was lowered to 50.55 seconds through converting it based on track size. His original time of 51.35, even unchanged was faster than any previous time posted this season.
Similar to Carsyn Koch, the women's track athlete of the week this week, Bernard showed off his versatility by finishing third in the high jump, but his height of 6' 3.5" is a conference best this season. Bernard finished off his weekend as a member of the winning 4x400 meter relay team, which finished with a time of 3:27.35. The time is another conference record mark, topping their own team record set back in December.
