Cedarville University sophomore Olivia Esbenshade carried the torch for the Lady Jackets over the weekend while being named the G-MAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
The Lady Jackets finished second out of 43 teams at the Wilmington-hosted #JennaStrong Fall Classic in Ohio. Esbenshade ran the 5,000-meter distance in 19:02.33 to place 14th out of 413 individuals.
Esbenshade’s most recent 5K time clocks in as the 11th best in G-MAC history and she joins teammates Alexandra Archambault and Carsyn Koch as weekly conference award winners for Cedarville this fall.
Cedarville’s team score of 1:36.11.73 was also the best cumulative time in the conference this year as the Lady Jackets’ top seven place-winners crossed the finish line within 47 seconds of each other.
