Megan Lafon has been named G-MAC Softball Pitcher Athlete of the Week for the first time this season, and alongside her teammate, Regan Drake being named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week, the two have earned the first softball weekly honor for Alderson Broaddus.

This past week, LaFon guided her team to 4-2 record in conference. She was the winning pitcher in all four of the wins, going 4-0 in five starts this week. She pitched a conference -high 31 innings in five starts. She recorded 21 strikeouts. Against D&E, she pitched a one-hit complete game shutout to start the week of action, following it up with a complete game win in game two. She totaled 10 strikeouts and two walks.

Over the weekend, she pitched game one of the doubleheader against Trevecca, which went nine innings before AB scored the game-winning run. She struck out five and walked two. On Saturday at Kentucky Wesleyan, LaFon started both games, winning the first after going six innings allowing just a run. She didn’t walk a batter and struck out four. In game two, she pitched the first three innings and left with the game tied. She allowed two earned runs and two unearned runs on five hits and two team errors.

She has now won seven-straight decisions to bump her season record to 11-10 overall, the last six coming against G-MAC opponents.
