Tiffin women’s basketball has won seven of its last eight games, including four straight wins over the past two weeks.

This week, the Dragons picked up a win over Hillsdale on Wednesday then defeated No. 9 ranked Cedarville on Saturday, to snap a 15-game winning streak by the Yellow Jackets.

Senior, Savanah Richards, has played an important role in the Dragons success this season, as she leads the team with 15.5 points per game and shoots 75.8 percent from the floor.

In Tiffin’s 81-73 win over Hillsdale, Richards tallied 14 points, six assists and four rebounds. She was 6-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Richards erupted for 30 points on Saturday, playing all 40 minutes, as the Dragons took down the Yellow Jackets, 83-70. The senior guard showcased her full scoring abilities, shooting 11-of-14 from the floor, a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point land and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe.

Her 15.5 points per game puts her eighth in the conference in scoring. She currently ranks eleventh in field goal percentage and twelfth in free throw percentage.

This marks the first time in Richards’ career she has been named Player of the Week, as well as the first time Tiffin has earned weekly honors this season.
