By bringing home medalist honors at the Ken Patridge Invitational at Purgatory in Noblesville, Ind., Grzegorczyk secured his second conference athlete of the week award of 2020-21.
His latest effort also cemented his status as a Top-5 scorer in the conference going into the championship event next week. The talented junior was also medalist at the Kyle Ryman Memorial Invitational in the fall.
Grzegorczyk finished even par with a 216 (76-74-66) at the event hosted by UIndy, which invites only the Midwest Region’s top programs. The Oilers finished third as a team with a 54-hole total of 890 (+26) and a best round of 293.
It was the fourth time this season a player recorded a 6-under par 66 as he joined Malone’s Connor Curry and Trevecca Nazarene’s Blain Turner (twice). He has joined teammate Justin Atkinson (72.71) among the league’s top 5 scorers.
Grzegorczyk’s scoring average was lowered to 73.06 going into the postseason. He has played in six of Findlay’s seven events and has counted 18 rounds to his season stats.
