Turner and the Trojans put together an impressive two-round showcase at the Mississippi College Invitational, a tournament the Trevecca program has plenty of noteworthy history with.
The tournament was shortened to 36 holes, but Turner officially shattered the conference 36-hole tournament score record with a two-day total of 134 (-10).
He posted rounds of 68 and 66 at Lake Caroline Country Club in Madison, Miss., as the Trojans also claimed the team title by four strokes over runner-up Delta State.
Turner was the medalist by one stroke over MC’s Force Choi and the Trojans placed four individuals among the top 15 finishers.
Turner broke the previous 36-hole scoring record set by Findlay’s Caleb Westfall last year as he fired a 138 (-6) at the Ohio Cup in September. Turner’s previous best 36-hole total was a 140 (-4) fired at the Findlay Spring Invitational in 2018-19.
It marked the fifth career victory for Turner and he is second all-time in TNU program history for medalist performances. TNU’s team total of 572 was the fourth-lowest total in program history.
