The Chargers are receiving votes in the GCAA Poll, a very notable accomplishment in the first-year tenure for head coach Matthew Thompson. Hillsdale’s lineup is balanced and the program had a great chance to knock off some of the winter rust at the Saint Leo Invitational in Dade City, Fla.
Zetwick was in the conference’s top 15 in fall scoring average (73.45) and the Chargers went up against a very tough field with nationally-ranked Lee, Barry, Columbus State, Lynn, Florida Southern and host Saint Leo, all in the mix.
The Chargers would finish 13th of 18 and posted first and final-round team scores of 288 at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
Zetwick would finish 1-over par for the tournament, earning a share of 38th. He had a first-round score of 79 (+7) but was even par or better the rest of the way. His second-round tally was a 70 (-2) and he posted an even par 72 to end it.
It was Hillsdale’s fifth tournament of the 2020-21 year and Zetwick improved his scoring average to 73.21 through 14 rounds counted.
Hillsdale heads out to the West Coast early in March for the Las Vegas Desert Classic at the Royal Links Golf Club.
