Rouse was trusted with Opening Day starter responsibilities for the Panthers and against Cedarville, turned in his best start of the spring with a complete-game effort.
The righty was just one two-out single in the third inning shy of tossing a nine-inning no-hitter against Cedarville, going the distance in a 6-0 Panthers’ victory.
Rouse was masterful as he struck out eight and walked just one for the shutout. He faced two batters over the minimum and threw 73 of his 105 pitches for strikes.
It was his fifth start of the spring as he improved to 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA in 33.1 innings pitched. He has recorded 32 strikeouts and has registered seven or more K’s in four of his five turns through the rotation.
Ohio Dominican won three of four from Cedarville to improve to 13-5 overall and 5-5 in the Great Midwest standings.
