Alazaus had two turns through the rotation for the Cavaliers, picked No. 2 in the preseason coaches poll, and delivered a pair of victories on the mound.
The southpaw was tough to solve against California (PA) and in conference play against Cedarville as he finished with 14 strikeouts in 11 innings pitched with a 1.23 ERA.
Alazaus struck out eight Vulcan batters in his first start on Monday as he pitched six innings and gave up just one run on two hits.
In Walsh's third win of the series over Cedarville, the junior came through with six more punchouts against the Yellow Jackets. He went five frames and gave up just one earned run again while walking one.
Alazaus was also off to a blistering start in the spring of 2020. He had logged a 1.89 ERA through three starts and was 2-0 with 9.47 K/9 ratio.
