Christina Curtner has been named the G-MAC Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, tying Emma Ricketts of Ursuline for the most times recognized this season with the weekly honor. She has earned all three of the honors over the last six weeks of the regular-season.
Trevecca Nazarene played only one contest this past week as they closed out the regular-season, but the game was the most important one of the season. Taking on a difficult opponent in Ursuline at home, TNU needed to win to clinch their second-straight regular-season conference title. Curtner led the way, scoring a team-high 19 points and pulling down a team-high 11 rebounds in the victory.
Curtner also recorded a game-high six assists to push the Trojans to 14-2, securing the top overall seed in the G-MAC Championship tournament, which they will host in Nashville starting this week. The 19 points and 11 rebounds were both season highs for the junior guard.
