Laura Farleman has been named the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Farleman, who broke her own school record in the pentathlon, won the event at the NCCAA Indoor Championship (hosted by Olivet Nazarene University). Farleman earned All-American honors for her finish in the pentathlon, becoming the only Lady Jackets to earn All-American honors in the two-day meet. Cedarville as a team finished 8th of 18 schools overall.

Farleman’s total of 3,198 points, was just three points away from reaching the NCAA Division II provisional qualification mark (3,201). She did win the NCCAA event by a comfortable 15-point margin, though her lone victory in an individual event came in the 800 meters with a time of 2:29.99, which was 157 points better than the runner-up finisher.

Farleman held CU's previous pentathlon record of 3,153 points, set in December at the Findlay Open, and she now owns the school's top five all-time point totals.
