Schmitmeyer went into the Tiffin Invitational tied for second in the Great Midwest in scoring and like Holden, double dipped with an individual win and team victory at the Mohawk Golf and Country Club.
She emerged out of the tournament as the league’s new leader in scoring average (75.75) by the slimmest of margins, passing Tiffin’s Alice Putoud by 0.10 of a stroke.
Schmitmeyer posted a 150 (78-72) to edge out Tiffin’s Amanda Johansson (152) for the best tournament score. Findlay tied the host Dragons for top team honors with a 623 in two rounds.
It was Findlay’s third tournament of the fall, which previously included runner-up performances at William Beall Fall Classic and the UIndy Fall Invitational.
Schmitmeyer has three top-10 finishes to the season already and came into the 2020-21 season ranked sixth all-time in conference career scoring (77.83).
The all-conference performer received her second conference career weekly honor.
