In his collegiate debut, the freshman Atkinson paced one of Findlay’s three teams entered in for scoring as the Oilers hosted the Doc Spragg Invitational at the Findlay Country Club.
Atkinson finished third in the individual standings with a 54-hole total of 213 (72-68-73) as his score with Sam Griffith, Donnie Professori, Luke Kelly and Tanner Grzegorczyk, put the unit runner-up only behind UIndy.
Atkinson was also named to the Doc Spragg All-Tournament Team. His single round of 68 (-4) is tied for the second-best 18-hole score in the league this year behind Hillsdale’s George Roberts (67) while matching Trevecca Nazarene’s Blain Turner.
Atkinson is second in the conference in scoring average through the early part of 2020-21 (71.00)
