The all-conference performer and NCAA qualifier Williams is right at home in the Cumberland Trail Fall Classic after successfully defending her title for back-to-back medalist honors.
It was the Pioneers’ second event of the fall season after starting the year at the UIndy Fall Invitational.
Williams had a two-day score of 148 (73-75) to win by two strokes over the field. She saved par on the 18th and final hole after finding sand to retain and ultimately hold on to the lead.
Malone also finished runner-up in the event only to Tiffin as the Pioneers enjoyed their third-best team tournament score (634) and the fifth-best 18-hole team score (316) in the process.
Williams has now completed five rounds in 2020-21, and has a scoring average of 76.20 as one of the top five in the conference. This is her third conference career weekly honor.
Williams was also named to the Cumberland Trail Fall Classic All-Tournament Team along with teammate Jocelyn Troyer.
Malone will be back in action this week for the Shriner’s Hospital for Children event hosted by Ohio Valley on Friday and Saturday.
