The Trevecca sophomore earned his first Great Midwest Player of the Week award by crushing the ball in the Trojans’ opening weekend series against Montevallo.
Goolsby went .467 (7-15) with five RBIs, two runs scored, a double and home run. Though the Trojans lost the decisive game three of the series, Goolsby shined at the plate and in the field.
The cleanup hitter produced an on-base percentage of .467 and was a .733 slugger while starting in left field every game.
Goolsby recorded multi-hit games in all three of the Trojans’ opening weekend series games including a 2-for-5 game two where he collected his first home run of the season in a 15-8 loss.
As a freshman Goolsby was named to the Great Midwest first team all-conference. The Trojans host Northwood University (0-0) for their home opener this weekend
