Trevecca freshman Sidney Brake made her presence known in her first weekend of collegiate softball. It was a joint effort by the Trojans hurlers as four different pitchers were credited with four winning decisions.
In the circle, Brake made three appearances, tossing a team-high 8 2/3 innings with a 3.23 ERA. Brake recorded two strikeouts per appearance, finishing with six on the weekend.
Brake (1-0) helped close the door on Christian Brothers in the seventh who had pulled within three runs in the final frame. The right-hander recorded the final two outs (strikeouts) to help the Trojans to a 7-4 victory.
After her first career start against West Georgia on Friday, Brake stepped into the circle for 3.2 innings of relief work against #18 Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday where she earned her first win.
The Trojans return to Tennessee this weekend, though remain on the road. The Trojans challenge Illinois-Springfield and #5 Young Harris College on Friday while concluding the road trip with contests against Montevallo and University of Indianapolis.
