Loran won the 100 yard backstroke to aid the Oilers in a head-to-head victory over Ashland, 153-74.
He was also second in the 400 medley relay and competed in the 200 freestyle as the Oilers feature two first-year standouts in the event along with Tim Stollings, who owns the conference record.
Versus Tiffin, he was second in the 200 medley relay but shined in the 100 yard backstroke again, beating last year’s conference champion and last year’s swimmer of the year in the process.
His winning time of 52.72 was very similar to his production vs. Ashland. Loran also beat teammate Paul Pavala and Tiffin’s Miguel Angel Garcia Arroyo in the 200 backstroke for another first-place finish.
For icing on the cake, Loran contributed to a winning 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:27.98.
