Turner and the Battlers competed at the West Virginia Open in Morgantown under first-year head coach Kaylyn Christopher, who joined the program right after cross country season.

It was a homecoming of sorts for AB’s new coach, a former academic and athletic All-American for the Mountaineers as a student-athlete.

Turner excelled in the 60-meter dash and as a member of the 4x400-meter relay.

The junior beat out West Virginia’s Michaela Rose in the finals with a time of 8.04, getting redemption from finishing behind the Mountaineer freshman in the prelims.

Turner then helped the Battlers get second in the relay event as Madison Ross, Kylie Laskody and Taylor Butler, combined for a time of 4:38.03.
