From the very beginning, Schmitmeyer was thrust into the limelight for a high-caliber program like the Oilers as one of the starting five.
Her continued development has been key for a top-10 WGCA team as Findlay tied for second at the Dayton Fall Invitational with the host Flyers.
Schmitmeyer anchored UF’s strong performance as she tied for fifth in a field of nearly all Division I competitors (Ohio Dominican was also in the field).
She fired rounds of 76 (+4) and 74 (+2) as the winner of the event was competing unattached from Ohio State.
Schmitmeyer went into the week ranking fourth in the conference in scoring average. She improved her 18-hole average to 75.27 through 11 rounds scored.
