Kelly has earned his second Great Midwest Athlete of the Week award of 2019-20 already after his performance at the Doc Spragg Invitational over the past two days.
The senior from Brownsburg, Ind., finished tied for second in the event and was the top finisher for the Oilers overall. Kelly was also the top finisher out of all the Great Midwest players in the field.
Findlay would finish second as a team in the scoring only to Wayne State (MI) for the 54 holes scored.
The All-Conference first team selection led the Oilers to a second-place finish as a team on Tuesday. At the Invitational Kelly opened the event with a 72 (E) and followed that up with another under par round in the tournament, a 68 (-4). Kelly would finish the tournament with another 72 (E) to end tied for second and 212 (-4) overall.
Kelly is currently the league leader among all players in the conference in scoring average at 70.9 strokes per 18 holes.
Findlay will have some time off before they step foot on the course again in a competitive setting. The Oilers will travel to Tiffin to take part in the Kyle Ryman Memorial on October 7.
