Garlock was dominant in between the sticks for the Yellow Jackets this past week, earning her place for a nod as the top defender in the league.

Cedarville only had one contest, but it was a vital one as the Yellow Jackets opened the league schedule against a tough opponent in Ohio Dominican.

The senior keeper saved six shots during an eventual overtime victory that eventually saw Aleah Martone successfully convert a game ending penalty kick.

Garlock has produced 26 saves this season through only five games, an average of over five stops per game. The Yellow Jackets haven’t had an easy schedule either as they started out the season against 6th ranked Lee and they have also played No. 21 Bellarmine.

The Yellow Jackets may be 2-3-0 on the year but with Garlock in between the sticks, Cedarville is in a good position continuing league play. Cedarville is currently on a two-game win streak and will look to continue that as they go on a road trip to Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan later this week.

This is Garlock’s third career defensive weekly honor and she has also been a national player of the week throughout her time at Cedarville.
