The all-conference dual-threat Watson started off the season with an impact performance in Week 1, leading the Dragons to a victory over Northwood (MI) on the road.
Watson completed 20 of his 34 passes and threw for 338 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was also dangerous in the run game as he had 9 carries that went for 48 yards and a touchdown.
This is Watson's third career offensive player of the week award and his 386 total yards of total offense is tied for the ninth best single-game output in league history. Tiffin is currently in its second season as a conference member.
Watson played turnover-free ball and accounted for every touchdown the Dragons had on Saturday. Watson had a long touchdown pass of 57 yards that went to WR Stanley Johnson who caught 7 passes for 179 yards and that lone touchdown.
Watson started the game out with a 23-yard scoring touchdown and in the fourth quarter, he found Johnson for a big scoring to put the Dragons up for good.
Watson will look to continue his solid play next week when the Dragons travel to Saginaw Valley State in Michigan for Week 2.
